Working within the Projects Vice Presidency, the incumbent is responsible for the definition, procurement, integration, and delivery of rolling stock, as well as the associated maintenance facilities. They are accountable for achieving the safety, cost, schedule, quality, and performance objectives of the package under their responsibility.

Key Responsibilities

Co-Development

  • Participate in defining the scope, delivery strategy, and structuring of the Rolling Stock and Maintenance Centre package;
  • Define the technical, operational, contractual, and performance requirements of the future contract, including maintenance, availability, and commissioning requirements;
  • Identify major risks, critical interfaces, and delivery constraints, particularly industrial, integration, certification, and operational performance risks;
  • Contribute to the procurement strategy, procurement process, and evaluation of potential rolling stock and maintenance facility suppliers;
  • Collaborate closely with integration teams to ensure alignment of the package with overall project requirements;
  • Ensure that operations, maintenance, testing, and certification needs are incorporated from the earliest stages of the project.

Execution

  • Lead suppliers responsible for rolling stock and maintenance facilities;
  • Oversee design, manufacturing, testing, validation, delivery, and commissioning activities;
  • Manage the package on a day-to-day basis with respect to safety, cost, schedule, quality, and performance;
  • Resolve technical issues and coordinate interfaces with other project packages;
  • Lead package risk, change, and issue management processes;
  • Prepare and monitor performance reviews with senior management, protect the company’s interests, and support commercial discussions;
  • Work closely with the Commercial Contracts team and support commercial discussions with the Client.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Significant experience in the acquisition, delivery, or commissioning of railway rolling stock;
  • Strong understanding of operations, maintenance, and long-term performance considerations;
  • Experience related to railway maintenance centres or maintenance facilities;
  • Good knowledge of testing, validation, certification, and commissioning processes;
  • Experience managing strategic industrial suppliers;
  • Ability to incorporate future operators’ requirements into the proposed solutions.
